Want to be on the front page of Google?

It makes good business sense to gain a prominent place on Google

The word marketing is on a piece of paper

Most businesses, regardless of the sector, wouldn’t complain at being listed on the front page of Google.

It makes good business sense to gain a prominent place on Google’s search rankings and certainly won’t do you any harm.

But how do you get there?

Thankfully, there’s more than one way of doing it and it doesn’t have to cost the earth.

A good first step if you haven't already completed this, is to claim your FREE
Google Business Profile
and create a listing page for your business.

Another method of increasing ranking position is to use Google’s advertising platform, Google Adwords.

Google Adwords is a pay per click system which utilises adverts when people search for phrases linked to your sector or specialism.

In this instance, you pay Google to appear for certain key words relevant to your business.

This is a very quick and efficient way of appearing high on Google’s search listings but such a presence will vanish when it’s switched off.

One of the natural and organic ways of featuring on search engine listings is to feed Google what it wants to know.

In a process known as content marketing, businesses write and publish articles that are highly relevant to the sector.

Quite often such articles answer the most popular Googled questions to help direct traffic to your website.

Search engines can differentiate between good content and bad content so there has to be a degree of quality to the article and content must be posted regularly.

Creating a relevant video is a good way to increase search engine position. Google owns YouTube which means videos originating from the site score very high in search engines.

By using appropriate, SEO-driven titles for your video, you will further increase the position it will appear in a key word search.

It doesn’t matter how much you promote your video, if viewers do not find the content and meaning valuable in anyway, it will not have the popularity needed to give it a rankings boost.

To create a good video title, it’s important to carry out some keyword research to see how people search for related content. Google will allow you to use their FREE Keyword Planner Tool if you create an AD account with them.

Following this, it’s advisable to complete the same search on YouTube to see how the highest ranking videos have gone about it.
